Video Games

Hey everyone, I just wanted to talk about something I’m very passionate about and that is video games. With the release of Elder Scrolls V: Sky rim tonight at midnight. I wanted to explain why I love video games so much. I am willing to spend $60 on an Xbox game or fill my hard drive with countless amounts of data just to play one game for 10 hours at a time. The reason why I love them so much is that they are an escapist medium. Just like books and movies, video games allow me to go from my world into another. After having a bad day or whenever I get really stressed all I have to do is turn on my computer and play a game and slowly over time my stress releases.

Video games are my vice and I play them to escape my own head for a stretch of time. They whisk you away into a whole new planet and a whole new world to live in just for an extended period of time and then you go back to real life. That transition however has proven difficult for some gamers. They are people who hate their own lives so much that they drown themselves in a computer screen playing World of Warcraft for hours upon hours without so much as getting up to eaten. But the same could be said of any fanatics for any medium.

So To all my fellow bloggers, I am here to tell you that if you haven’t picked up a video game before in your life. Try it. They are a great way to have fun with friends or solve puzzles and generally there great brain food. A video game is the only interactive medium that requires your input to change it. As such they change by your touch and you can create your own stories and your own worlds just by clicking a mouse or thumbing a joystick
